Carved 1940's Gold Painted Lucite Fish Brooch with Rhinestones: This enchanting and whimsical 1940's fish brooch is carved from pale pink lucite in great detail and embellished with gold paint and multi color rhinestones. Her fins have deep blue accents, and I adore the big fish lips! The brooch is in wonderful condition with no chips or cracks and minor wear to the gold paint. The clasp is screwed into the brooch and holds securely with a safety pin type closure. the brooch measures 2 1/8 by 1 5/8". A delightful addition to your vintage plastics collection!
Antique Victorian Scottish Agate Sterling Buckle Brooch: This enchanting brooch hails from the mid to late 1800's when Queen Victoria became enamored with all things Scottish, especially the "pebble" jewelry. The brooch is sterling silver ( unmarked and tested) and set with banded agate and jasper in an engraved silver setting. It is embellished with a silver buckle ( garter) on the left side. If you look bottom right on the brooch, you can see what appears to be a separated stone..but the edges are smooth, and the stones are secure, so I have no idea if it was originally this way. The brooch has a tube hinge and open c-clasp and has no makers marks. It measures 1 1/2 by 1 1/4".
Rare Vintage 1938 Disney Enterprises DOC with Lantern Pin: These charming Disney brooches are hard to find, so I am pleased to present Doc for your consideration. Although he appears to be crafted from wood, research shows the Brier Company of Providence RI used a composite for these pieces. For his age, his paint is in wonderful condition. Doc is carrying a raised lantern in one hand and what appears to be a stick or club in the other. He maintains the details in his face including his red nose and glasses. The pin back has wear, but closes securely, and you can still read 1938 Disney Enterprises. Of course you already know these pins were released for the movie Snow White! Doc measures 1 5/8 by 1 1/4". Don't let this one get away!
Signed Carl-Art Sterling Filigree Rhinestone Cascade Brooch: This lovely sterling silver filigree and rhinestone brooch from Carl-Art features spun filigree leaves with a cascade of baguette and chaton rhinestones, accented with two marquise rhinestones. The design has a light and airy feel, while actually the piece is extremely well made. Other than a few of the rhinestones having darkened slightly due to age, the brooch is in excellent condition and has plenty of sparkle. It measures 2 by 1 7/8" and is signed Sterling with the Carl-Art mark of CA on an arrow.
Vintage Artisan Geometric Modernist Inlaid Metal Brooch Cultured Pearl: This amazing modernist brooch is artisan crafted, but unsigned. The work is incredibly detailed, with depth and dimension. The brooch is inlaid with a variety of materials in white, black and brick red. I am unable to tell what the material is. The recessed areas are inlaid with small angled tiles of gold and copper colored material. A 6 mm genuine cultured pearl adorns the open center of the brooch. The metal is a dense, heavy dark metal, doesn't test as sterling and is not pewter. I truly have no idea what it is. The craftsmanship on this brooch is amazing. It measures 1 3/4 by 1 1/2 and is shockingly unsigned.
Vintage Sterling Silver Marcasite Amber Brooch Pendant: This lovely sterling silver and amber piece is both a brooch and a pendant. The open work silver is set with small round and baguette shaped marcasites with an oval amber stone in the center. The bale is large enough for most chains and the pin back is secure with a double roll over closure I haven't seen before. The piece measures 1 1/4 by 1" and is signed 925 with a makers mark.
