Unsigned Sterling 1940's Horse Head Chatelaine Brooch: This fabulous chatelaine brooch features elegant horses in sterling silver with one large horse head on the left and two smaller horses on the right. Although unmarked, this piece has tested sterling. It is quite substantial! The horse heads are outlined in bright blue chaton rhinestones. The curled mane is adorned with clear chaton rhinestones and the large horse has a rich red rhinestone eye. Black and red enamel detail the faces. The large horse measures 2 by 3/4" and the smaller horse heads measure 1 by 1 1/4". The sterling open link chain is a very nice weight and has no weak links. The shortest chain measures 4 1/2" and the longer measure 5 1/4". This horse head design is shown in Julia C. Carroll's Costume Jewelry 202 on page 52 as a variation of the 1943 Coro patent 135970 assigned to Adolph Katz. However, this particular brooch was shown in a 1940's magazine with no attribution. So in all probability not Qoro, just a lovely and well made copy of their popular design. That being the case, this is a magnificent chatelaine brooch and will be a proud addition to any vintage jewelry collection and a great conversation piece pinned to your favorite sweater or jacket.
Vintage Taxco Mexico Sterling and Jasper Clip Earrings: These impressive vintage earrings from Taxco, Mexico feature large high dome cabochon stones set in a sterling bezel adorned with a twisted rope. I am not sure what stone this is, possibly a jasper. They are a black background with bright red matrixed spots, very interesting stones! The clip backs are tight and secure. They are marked numerous times, but the marks are very hard to read.

Artisan OOAK Sterling and Agate Earrings: Created in our studio, these one of a kind sterling and agate earrings will steal the show. These large teardrop agates started their life as vintage buttons. The jacket was tattered beyond repair, but I removed the button backs, added a heavy sterling bezel and long sterling earwires accented by a textured sterling bead. And Presto..a lovely pair of earrings! The agates are a soft blue with brown lace through out. A wonderful pair of earrings to spice up your casual outfits!
Taxco Silver Rose Quartz and Malachite Aztec Brooch/Pendant: This is a beautifully made and unusual brooch from Taxco, Mexico. The Aztec warrior is carved out of rose quartz. His headdress is inlaid with malachite set in black resin. He has silver articulated earrings and a collar with more dangles that match his headdress. He is marked on the back, either 950 0r 850, the first number is too blurred for me to make out. He also has the mark TA-156 and a script number 28. This brooch is very well made and doubles as both a brooch or a pendant. A fabulous piece to wear and a great addition to your silver collection.
