Gerardo Lopez Mid Century Sterling Aztec Warrior Brooch
From master Taxco silversmith Gerardo Lopez comes this fabulous brooch, large in scale and depicting the theme of Aztec warriors bracketing the Plumed Serpent. The Serpent is the divinity Quetzalcoatl, the god who brings good tidings to mankind. The open cut work design is beautifully detailed with three separate figures. The brooch measures 3 by 3 inches and is in wonderful condition. I have not touched the patina. Fully hallmarked.
