Vintage 1940's Sapphire Blue Flower Brooch
I adore these old 30's-40's flower brooches, and this is one of the loveliest I have found. The silver tone metal has a beautiful luster, a deep silver, not quite pewter, but very rich. The flower is composed of eight emerald cut open back sapphire blue stones with amazing depth and sparkle. The leaves are dimensional and fluid in design and the leaf to the left is accented with two blue rhinestones. I replaced the center clear rhinestone as it was dead and dull with a glittering dentelle ( multi-faceted) rhinestone for extra brilliance. This beauty measures 3 1/4 by 2". Unsigned.
