Fabulous Thelma Deutsch Rhinestone Peacock Brooch: Thelma Deutsch produced her fabulous costume jewelry pieces from 1980-1995. Usually large and over the top in design, she often used vintage molds to recreate pieces from days gone by with unusual and contemporary rhinestones and colors. This large and impressive peacock brooch was created from a vintage 1930's mold. It is crafted in bright silver tone metal and set with a plethora of blue rhinestones on the body and purple on the tail feathers. The tail feathers are also enhanced with the use of purple rivoli rhinestones. This large and lovely beauty measures 5 by 1 3/4". It is signed Thelma Deutsch.

The fanned out tail is set with teardrop art glass stones, a lovely swirling of baby blue and cream with a bit of a cats eye effect. The base of the tail is detailed with tiny individual feathers with a faint wash of baby blue enamel. The body used to have a light wash of blue enamel but most has worn off over time. The crest is set with three light pink rhinestones. These brooches came in many variations and are a treat to find! As with most of the peacocks, this one is unsigned. The brooch measures 2 1/4 by 2".
