Antique Enamel Canadian Provinces Sash Pin Brooch: This lovely circa 1910 sash brooch features the symbols used for the 7 Canadian Provinces on the shield with a crown on top. The sash brooch is crafted in brass and enameled in royal blue with gold accents. There is one small chip on the right side, hard to see but mentioned for accuracy. The brass was scratched on the back, someone carelessly testing for gold content. C-clasp closure. The brooch measures 3 by 2". If you are Canadian and wish to purchase this brooch, please message me for shipping cost. I am only set up for US shipping.
Victorian Ornate Book Chain Locket Necklace: Simply stunning Victorian silver plated locket suspended on a book chain necklace. The large and ornate locket measures 2 1/4 by 1 1/2". It has space for two pictures and still has the photo of a baby with kitty cat bib and silver rattle! The rings and plastic covers are intact. The hinge and snap closure are tight and secure. The book chain necklace is embellished with a flower and leaf design. I believe this clasp is a replacement, as the older clasps were often changed out. The necklace is 18" long. Unsigned.
Antique Queen Victoria 1896 Penny Cut Out Brooch: A unique piece of Victorian era coin jewelry, this brooch was made from an 1896 British copper penny. The Queens profile has been cut out, with serrated edges around the inside of the brooch. The brooch has a c-clasp with tube hinge. The piece was absolutely pitch black when I received it and I did polish some. I will leave any extra polishing to new owner. The brooch measures 1 1/4".
Antique Victorian Plainville Stock Company 14k Paste Rhinestone Brooch: This is a wonderful late Victorian brooch from Plainville Stock company. It is centered with a large rose cut paste rhinestone, extremely brilliant and set in multiple prongs. This is an unusual piece in that the bars and leaves across the top of the brooch test as 14k gold, the support bar across the back of the brooch is only gold plated. I had my personal jeweler verify my results to confirm my testing. The brooch has an old safety pin clasp which is signed PSCO for Plainville Stock Company. It measures 2 1/4". A fabulous and unusual find!
Lovely Antique Edwardian Banded Agate Brooch: This lovely antique Edwardian brooch features a banded agate, the transparent material swirled with caramel and sienna colors in a gold plated frame bordered with tiny dots. the bbrooch is in amazing condition for its age, the plating almost pristine. Oval in shape, the brooch measures 1 1/4 by 7/8" and is unsigned. The old style roll over clasp holds quite securely.
Antique Victorian 1891 Sterling Hallmarked Maltese Cross Engraved Brooch: This fabulous antique Victorian sterling brooch was crafted in Birmingham England in 1891. The unusual design features an eight pointed star applied to a Maltese cross, the oval center heavily engraved with ivy leaves, the symbol of wedded bliss. Victorians loved to infuse their jewelry with heavy symbolism, the star a symbol of protection, the arms of the Maltese cross symbolizing temperance, prudence, justice, and fortitude. The brooch is signed B&W for William Brown and Bernard Wheelwright, the company founded in 1857. The brooch is fully hallmarked, in excellent condition, measures 1 3/8 by 1 1/8, and closes with a c-clasp
Antique Victorian Engraved Buckle Style Sash Pin: This lovely antique Victorian sash pin features a rectangular shape bordered in a beaded motif, with a pattern of leaves and flowers etched in to the brass metal. The center has the buckle style hook, which is purely decorative. It closes securely with an open "C" clasp and measures 2 3/4 by 2". The condition is wonderful. I have not polished, I think it looks fabulous as is.
Antique Edwardian Sterling Queen Conch Cameo Ring with Poppy Pods: This wonderful Edwardian ring is crafted in sterling silver with a motif of poppy pods running up both sides. The cameo is carved from queen conch shell, hence its light pink color. Her hair is up swept and her gown leaves a shoulder bare. This is a small ring, for a pinky finger only, but could be sized up slightly, although I would not advise it. The cameo measures 7/8 by 5/8" and the ring is signed STERLING.
Antique Victorian Taille D'Epargne Enamel Tracery Buckle Bracelet: This lovely antique Victorian buckle bracelet is actually a faux buckle, as the oval bracelet is hinged and opens on the side. The bracelet is 3/4" wide and oval in profile. The taille d'epagrne tracery enamel is in very good condition. The bracelet has the original safety chain and a tight hinge. There are two tiny spots beside the buckle in silver, they do not appear to be plating wear as much as tiny drops of solder. The interior of the bracelet shows normal age wear. The bracelet is marked with PAT APLD 1872. A super bracelet!
Victorian Blackened Sash Brooch with Black Molded Glass Stones: This stunning late Victorian sash brooch features an unusual foliate design with art nouveau elements, most likely a transition piece. Possible a mourning piece, with the metal having been blackened and the use of black stones, but it would not have been deep mourning due to the use of faceted stones. Since the death rate was high, and even cousins were mourned, women were often in black, and black became a fashion statement. The brooch is quite unusual, and I can't find another like it. The black faceted glass stones are molded. The brooch is large like most sash brooches, measuring 3 1/4 by 2 1/4". The open C-clasp holds securely.
