Adorable Alice Caviness Sterling Germany Marcasite Whale Brooch
This enchanting vintage 1950's whale brooch from Alice Caviness will win your heart! The whale is crafted in Germany of sterling silver vermeil in great detail. His eye is a green glass cabochon and his fins are set with sparkling marcasites. I particularly like his toothy grin! There is light wear to a few areas of the vermeil. These pieces were made in more limited quatities than her rhinestone pieces, so always a treat to find, the whale especially. The brooch measures 1 3/4 by 1/2". It is signed Alice Caviness, Sterling, Germany.
